Are you looking for a great summer adventure to share with your kids? Maybe you've considered camping, but the thought of sleeping in a tent on the ground gives you pause.

What if we told you that you could have all the adventure and outdoor activities without the traditional “dirty” camping experience? We're talking comfortable beds, hot showers, spacious safari tents and cabins, and many of the creature comforts of home—maybe even a fully-equipped kitchen! Pair that with easy access to endless fun activities, and you get more than just the traditional camping experience.

Glamping is basically “glamorous camping.” It lets you enjoy the great outdoors in a more resort-like atmosphere with your family. You trade sleeping bags on the ground for comfy beds or the occasional cot. Plus, accommodation types aren’t just limited to glamping tents; you’ll also find luxury safari tents, spacious tepees, Conestoga wagons, cozy yurts, or even log cabins! Depending on your location of choice, you may encounter en suite bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, a small kitchen, a wood-burning stove, and/or air conditioning! The possibilities are virtually endless!

As a family, we had a great time glamping at Under Canvas in Moab, Utah! Once we returned home, we wondered what other great places across the U.S. we could take our kids for a similar experience.

We've done the searching for you and created this list of the best glamping spots for families across the United States. Some even have on-site restaurants or a general store to help you feed your crew after a day of adventure.
